A 114% Year-on-year Jump! Yuchai's Engine Orders Hit a Record High in January

In 2021, despite the economic consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak, Yuchai has gotten over many difficulties and bucked the trend. In January, Yuchai received engine sales orders of 82,000 sets in total, up 114.4% year-on-year, hitting a record high in monthly orders.

In the automotive engine segment, Yuchai has seized the market opportunities such as change in model demand under the trend of increasingly stricter control over truck overloading and overrun, nationwide implementation of traffic control over China III vehicles, and the favorable policies of providing subsidies for auto replacement. In January, Yuchai sold over 30,000 engines, up 70% year-on-year. Among them, the sales of tractor engines were keeping rising steadily, up 118% year-on-year, and the sales of engines for highway buses were up 182% year-on-year, presenting a trend of rapid growth.

In the general-purpose engine segment, Yuchai harvested orders for more than 25,000 sets in January, up 251% year-on-year. Among them, the sales of engines for construction machinery increased 186% year-on-year and those of engines for agricultural equipment 278% year-on-year. This month, Yuchai has also achieved further growth in market shares by segment, ranking first in the industry in terms of market shares in the segments including engines for wheat harvesters, corn harvesters, peanut harvesters, tractors above 80 HP, wheel excavators, air compressors and drillers.

In the marine & G-drive engine segment, Yuchai received orders for over 7,000 sets in January, up 70% year-on-year, making a good beginning in this year. Yuchai's marine & G-Drive engine products have been widely applied in the market areas of engineering ships, oil and gas fields, farming, mobile communications and data centers, and the market shares of the products keep rising, ranking first in the industry.

In addition, January also saw a significant increase in the sales of Yuchai's clean energy engines, with both the number of orders in production and the number of potential orders hitting record highs. In the overseas market, Yuchai received bulk orders from customers in Southeast Asia, Africa, South America and other regions, and exported more than 3,000 sets, up 52% year-on-year, giving a strong impetus to the engine market under the impact of the global pandemic.

To meet customers' demand in a timely and efficient manner, Yuchai has overcome the difficulties such as disruption of China's import supply chain due to the global pandemic. With such measures as order placement in advance, scientific production scheduling, information-based management and control, efficient utilization of upstream parts supply, logistics and transportation, and on-site supporting services, Yuchai has lived up to customers' trust and ensured the production and on-time delivery of engines.
