On March 8, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yuchai Group”) held the Third Meeting of the 18th Congress of Workers and Staff (hereinafter referred to as “the meeting”). On this rainy day, 670 staff representatives attended the meeting in Yuchai Cultural Center to discuss the development of Yuchai Group and blueprint for a better life. Through the meeting, Yuchai has taken an oath to usher in the new era, bear new missions and move towards a new journey. The meeting called for the joint efforts by all staff of Yuchai to take advantage of the trend, conduct down-to-earth work to push Yuchai’s new undertaking to a new height and spare no effort to build the industrial park valuing RMB 100 billion, so as to achieve the Yuchai dream of becoming a world-class enterprise.

Nie Jiangwu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Deputy Director and Inspector of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Huang Shaoming, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Yulin Municipal People’s Congress and Chairman of Yulin Federation of Trade Unions, and Lin Kai, Deputy Director of Publicity Department of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region attended the meeting to conduct guidance work.

A total of 41 members of the presidium, including Yan Ping, Li Hanyang, Wu Qiwei and Jiang Fei, and 4 representatives were seated on the rostrum. Guo Deming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Yuchai Group, presided over the meeting.

Nie Jiangwu extended warm congratulations to the successful opening of the meeting on behalf of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He indicated that in 2018, Yuchai Group has thoroughly implemented the spirit of Implementation Plan of Secondary Entrepreneurship in Guangxi’s Machinery Industry, made every effort to promote reform and innovation, consolidate the foundation and base and improve quality and efficiency, facilitated the optimization and upgrading of industries, enhanced the support of technological innovation and built the modern manufacturing city. As a result, the enterprise development foundation and production & operation quality have been consolidated, the operation vitality has been constantly released, the culture of Party building has been enriched, the life of staff has been improved, and the social image of Yuchai has been more prominent, enabling Yuchai Group to significantly play a leading role and make positive contribution to the economic and social development of Guangxi. In 2019, Nie hoped Yuchai Group to stand on a new starting point, grasp opportunities, raise to the challenges, persist in the guidance of Party building, in-depth reform and talent cultivation, strengthen all-round innovation and cultural cohesion, enhance staff caring, further improve core competitiveness and achieve high-quality development, thus making greater contribution to the economic development of Guangxi.

In the process of the meeting, Yan Ping, Chairman of Yuchai Group, expressed sincere gratitude to the CPC committees and governments of Guangxi and Yulin for their great concern about, full support for and firm trust in Yuchai Group last year. Yan Ping also highly affirmed performance of the management team in 2018, and delivered an important speech titled Grasping the Opportunity to Reach a New High; Making Joint Efforts to Complete Great Cause.

Yan Ping said that the year 2018 is not only the most favorable year for Yuchai Group’s development, but also the beginning of Yuchai Group to bear new missions and move towards a new journey. In the past year, challenged by the grim and complex development environment at home and abroad, Yuchai Group has stuck to the annual business policy and the general working fundamentals of seeking improvement while maintaining stability, facilitated innovation and efficiency through transformation and practical measures, and focused on the work of all-round reform and innovation, leading to significant changes of Yuchai Group in such aspects as development pattern, industry pattern, product pattern, brand pattern, capacity pattern and system strength. By virtue of the thorough implementation of reform and innovation, the strength of Yuchai Group as an international enterprise has been tremendously enhanced. In 2018, the sales revenue including tax of Yuchai Group accumulated RMB 36,209 million, a year-on-year growth of 1.69%, with operating efficiency reaching a new level.

Yan Ping summarized the work highlights of Yuchai Group from seven aspects namely the management of Yuchai Group by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, marketing, technological innovation, international cooperation, system reengineering, talent cultivation and Party building culture. According to Yan Ping, after Yuchai Group was put under the administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it has been significantly supported by the Region in capital, policies and other fields, pushing Yuchai Group to a higher and larger development platform and opening a new journey for its reform and development. Based on these favorable conditions, all departments of Yuchai Group have conducted elaborate layout and made tremendous efforts, facilitating 13 subsidiaries to reach a year-on-year increase in accumulated sales revenue including tax, among which the increase of 11 subsidiaries was in double digits. Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yuchai”) has also made remarkable achievements in market segment like marine & G-drive engine, bus engine and clean energy engine.

Spring comes early to diligent people. Yan Ping pointed out that the year 2019 marks the burst of energy and more opportunities than challenges. In 2019, under the leadership of the CPC Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yuchai Group will implement the “benefit+scale” dual-wheel driven strategy, further optimize the resource and asset structures of industrial chain, promote the construction of major projects, win the battle of upgrading China VI and T4 and transforming clean energy engine, accelerate to achieve all-round system reengineering, enhance brand management, build a world-class talent team, form the advantage of Party building and culture, and make a breakthrough in RMB 40 billion scale of operation, so as to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of PRC with excellent performance.

Yan Ping indicated that in the next few years, Yuchai Group will embrace both opportunities and challenges, and it is required to take advantage of the trend, conduct down-to-earth work to push Yuchai’s new undertaking to a new height and spare no effort to build the industrial park valuing RMB 100 billion, so as to achieve the Yuchai dream of becoming a world-class enterprise.

Yan Ping also said that in 2019, Yuchai Group will further carry forward people-oriented caring culture to benefit all staff with development results. The salary lever will continue to tilt to grass-roots staff; the rotating shift will be properly conducted, the welfare allowances will be increased and the legal rights and interests of staff will be guaranteed. As a result, the sense of gain, happiness and safety of all staff will be strengthened by sharing reform and development achievements.

At the meeting, Li Hanyang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Yuchai Group, made a report on the work of general managers; Wu Qiwei, President of Yuchai, delivered a report on the work of presidents; Wang Hong, Chief Accountant of Yuchai Group, made a report on financial budget and final accounts.

In the meantime, staff representatives listened carefully to the Report on Democratic Appraisal of Leadership, the Report on Performance of the Collective Contract and the Collective Contract Exclusive for Female Staffs of Yuchai Group in 2018 and the Report on Implementation of Staffs’ Proposals.

After review and discussion, the meeting voted through the work reports delivered by general manager (president) groups of Yuchai Group and Yuchai, the financial budget and final accounts report of Yuchai Group and the report on performance of the Collective Contract and the Collective Contract Exclusive for Female Staffs of Yuchai Group in 2018.
