On December 1, good news came from Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity that Yuchai's Zhong Qingsi and Tang Zhiping claimed the titles of respective categories among the 12 contestants fielded by Yuchai for the 2014 "Guangxi Skill Master Contest" and nine contestants were ranked among the top 10.

Yuchai stood out in the fierce competition to achieve brilliant results. Zhong Qingsi, Zeng Wenming and Mo Dashan were ranked 1st, 2nd and 10th in the category of refrigeration maintainer respectively; Tang Zhiping, Liang Ka and Lu Qianshan were ranked 1st, 2nd and 5th in the category of computer (microcomputer) debugger respectively; He Haixian and Yang Jian were ranked 4th and 8th in the category of forklift driver respectively; Lan Yi was ranked 10th in the welder category; and Yuchai Group won the Excellence Award.

According to the source, the contest involves 10 categories: welder, refrigeration maintainer, computer (microcomputer) debugger, crane driver, forklift driver, bank teller, flower gardener, purifier and Telecom 10000 operator. Over 240 masters of 17 delegations from Guangxi's 17 cities entered the contest. The organizing committee will apply to the Federation of Trade Unions of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for awarding the titles of "Guangxi Labor Medal" and "Guangxi Skill Master" to the winner of each category, and apply to the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for awarding the title of "Guangxi Skill Master" to the top three placers in each category. The top ten placers in each category may obtain the qualification of technician or be promoted to technician.
