On January 12, Yuchai's YC8CL high-speed marine engine and YC6CA medium & high-speed marine engine were ignited successfully at Yuchai R & D Center. The engines filled a gap in Yuchai's power range from 1,200hp to 1,600hp. Corporate leaders including Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery) and Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery attended the igniting ceremony.

According to the source, YC6CA medium & high-speed marine engine is an extended-range electronically controlled engine with a power of 880kW-1,030kW and a displacement of 60L. YC8CL high-speed marine engine has a power of 1,176kW and a displacement of 72L. Both have features such as sufficient power, low fuel consumption, good emission performance, high reliability, small size and light weight.

YC6CA medium & high-speed marine engine is applicable to 100m-200m 6,000t-8,000t dual-engine inland freighters and 40m-55m offshore & ocean single-engine fishing vessels. YC8CL high-speed marine engine is applicable to 100m-120m 8,000t-10,000t dual-engine inland freighters and 45m-60m offshore & ocean single-engine fishing vessels.

According to Shen Jie, chief engineer of Yuchai Group, the two marine engines will boost the competitiveness of Yuchai marine engines in the fields of inland freighters and ocean fishing vessels after their launch.
