On April 25, Qiu Xiaoping, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) and vice minister of human resources and social security, conducted a survey of Yuchai, inquiring into the enterprise's employment and salary distribution in development, offering guiding opinions on enterprise talent team building, and calling on the enterprise to build development confidence and create harmonious labor relations. Speaking of Yuchai's employment, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, said the engine industry dropped by some 8 percent in the first quarter of this year, Yuchai's sales were up 1 percent year on year in the first quarter, and Yuchai's employment trend this year is better than last year with the number of new employees increasing slightly.
Referring to salary distribution, Yan said, Yuchai is committed to making employees share development fruits and ensuring that employees' salaries and benefits grow with the enterprise, such as resolving housing problem for needy employees, issue welfare products in holidays and festivals, and travel.
After hearing the report, Qiu said he was impressed by two things in the survey: first, it is not easy for Yuchai to stand out to increase benefit amid the market slump since last year; second, Yuchai paid close attention to safeguarding employees' lawful rights and interests during development, setting a good example to Yulin's other enterprises in terms of employment and salary distribution.
During the survey, Qiu stressed that safeguarding employees' lawful rights and interests is the bottom line, and on this basis, efforts should be made to improve employees' labor environment and conditions, and to intensify humanistic construction and career development channel construction. The enterprise should build development confidence, make great efforts in technical innovation, management innovation and employee quality increase, and grow strong through its own efforts and macroscopic government support.
