On June 28, the completion ceremony for Yuchai's four major projects, organized by Yuchai Industry Park, took place at the heavy-duty engine test workshop of the CNG engine project of Yuchai R & D Center. Xuan Jiajun, vice mayor of Yulin City, was present on behalf of the Yulin Municipal People's Government, announcing the completion of the projects. Among attendees were Liang Qingyan, deputy general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., relevant leaders of Yuchai Industry Park and Yuchai's staff.

Yuchai's four major projects include the construction of the CNG engine manufacturing base, the formation of the production capacity of YC6C diesel engine, the technical renovation and upgrading of national V diesel engines and the innovative capacity building of the national technical center. All these projects have settled in Yuchai Industry Park.

Phase 1 of the construction of the CNG engine manufacturing base involved constructing a 5,000-square-meter CNG engine workshop, a 4,200-square-meter heavy-duty CNG engine workshop and a 13,500-square-meter warehouse; filling a gap in the equipment of Yuchai's existing workshops to form an annual production capacity of 10,000 CNG engines. Phase 2 involved constructing two test bench workshops and two production bench workshops for CNG engines with a total floor area of 111,140 square meters to form an annual production capacity of 30,000 CNG engines. Phase 1 was launched in November 2011 and will be completed and delivered in June 2013.

The project of forming the production capacity of YC6C diesel engine was launched in January 2010 and will be completed and delivered in June 2013. The project involved making use of Yuchai's stock assets to build an YC6C engine body machining line and an YC6C diesel engine assembly & testing line and transform the existing plant buildings and corresponding public utilities, to meet the production demand of YC6C diesel engine.

The project of technical renovation of national IV diesel engines was launched in August 2010 and will be completed and delivered in June 2013. The project involved making use of Yuchai's stock assets to renovate plants and departments of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. such as the R & D Center, Manufacturing Technology Department, Quality Department, Foundry, Machining Plant, Engine Plant 1, Engine Plant 2, Power Supply Plant and Tools Manufacturing Plant, and purchasing some equipment required for manufacturing national IV diesel engines, to boost Yuchai's R & D, founding, machining, testing and inspection levels and form an annual production capacity of 100,000 national IV diesel engines.

The project of innovative capacity building of the national technical center was launched in 2010 and will be completed in June 2013. The project built a diesel engine design platform, established the YCEDP R & D process and project management system, completed the intelligent integration of R & D tools, accomplished R & D planning (including DFMEA), 3D modeling, CAE virtual analysis, design result output and connection to SAP system, developed a TENO-based digital process R & D system, and comprehensively upgraded the PDM system, thus boosting R & D efficiency.

The completion and operation of the four major projects will further improve Yuchai's capacity for engine manufacturing, enhance its innovation capacity and product competitiveness, increase the overall strength of Yuchai Industry Park and boost Yuchai's development and Yulin's industry, said Liang, adding that Yuchai will further intensify project management, perfect supporting facilities, strengthen resources support and implement the projects vigorously to ensure that the projects produce effects as soon as possible.
