Yuchai's Plateau Calibration Team Marches into Tibet Plateau Again

As Yuchai's high-temperature calibration test projects in Hainan and Turpan, Xinjiang have drawn to an end, the staff conducting vehicle calibration tests in areas like Xinjiang and Hainan has recently set out for Golmud, Qinghai. They will reach Golmud around August 16 and meet with the staff conducting mobile bench tests there for plateau calibration tests.

Yuchai is the first engine manufacturer to conduct "three-high" calibration in the industry. "Three high" calibration is Yuchai's annual fixed engine test project. The project involves bench tests and vehicle tests, primarily tests engines' operation conditions in harsh working conditions such as high cold, high temperature and highland, controls and optimizes performance indicators and parts.

For the "three-high" calibration project this year, except that high cold calibration needs to be conducted at the end of this year, high-temperature and highland calibration was conducted in mid-to-late July. Nine models predominated by gas engines have been selected for the calibration this year. According to Li Qinsheng, leader of the highland mobile bench calibration test project, their bench calibration team has wound up the mobile bench tests of three models. They are scheduled to continue testing the other six models at altitudes of 2,900 meters, 3,500 meters and 4,500 meters together with the vehicle test team. All tests are expected to be completed in early September.

The project will validate and confirm early product upgrading, thus further boosting the competitiveness of Yuchai's new products including gas engine, Li said.
