On August 7, "Yuchai" National Annual Conference on Processes of Electromechanical Enterprises & 7th Symposium on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Processes and Technologies in Machinery Industry, organized by the China Association of Machinery Manufacturing Technology (CAMMT) and undertaken by Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., opened at Yuchai Cultural Center. Under the theme of "Enterprise prosperity through innovation, intelligent manufacturing for future", the conference invited experts, scholars and enterprise representatives to make presentations on new ideas, methods and results of process innovation as well as frontier technologies, development trends and management experience. Also, technical forums were held to provide a demonstration, exchange and innovation platform for enterprises and technologists present.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Xifeng, council chairman of CAMMT, delivered an opening speech, extending warm congratulations on the opening of the conference. Xuan Jiajun, vice mayor of Yulin City and Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group, spoke at the conference, introducing the relevant information of Yulin City and Yuchai Group. Wang Weiming, deputy director of the Department of Equipment Industry, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the development of China's process technologies.

At the opening ceremony, advanced individuals and collectives in process technology work were awarded. The lifetime achievement award for process innovation was presented. The award for machinery manufacturing process technology achievements in 2013, the China lifetime achievement award, outstanding youth award and outstanding technologist award for machinery manufacturing process in 2013, and the award for "Yuchai" outstanding process articles in 2013 were presented. Outstanding members and advanced workers of the China Association of Machinery Manufacturing Technology were awarded.

Lu Yansun, former chief engineer of the Ministry of Machine Building Industry, former vice minister of machine building industry and honorary council chairman of CAMMT received the lifetime achievement award for process innovation from Wang Xifeng, council chairman of CAMMT. Yuchai reaped a good harvest: Chen Jinyuan, president of Yuchai Technician Association and president of Yuchai Science & Technology Association, won the China lifetime achievement award for machinery manufacturing process; Liang Qingyan, vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., won the China outstanding youth award for machinery manufacturing process; Yuchai's four staff members were honored as outstanding technologists; in the process article selection, Yuchai had four articles winning the first prize, three winning the second prize and four winning the third prize; besides, Yuchai had two projects winning the first prize, three winning the second prize and four winning the third prize of the award for machinery manufacturing process technology achievements in 2013.

At the presentation session, experts, scholars and enterprise representatives like Lu Yansun, former chief engineer of the Ministry of Machine Building Industry, former vice minister of machine building industry and honorary council chairman of CAMMT; Cai Weici, vice chairman of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Liang Qingyan, vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.; Wang Zhiyao, researcher of the China Academy of Space Technology; Shan Zhongde, researcher of the China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology; Shi Zhaoyao, professor of Beijing University of Technology; Wei Jianjun, deputy director of the Zhengzhou Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Huang Yunfeng, professor of Pohang University of Science and Technology probed into topics such as enterprise prosperity through process innovation, the current situation and outlook of the machinery industry, process innovation and management, electromechanical product reliability process control, 3D printing and its development trend, high-precision gear manufacturing process and measuring technology development and challenges, development and application of hard facing remanufacturing.

Ning Xingyong, Party secretary of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., attended the conference. Yuchai's technologist representatives heard presentations by experts and scholars.

According to the schedule, two sub-forums will be held under the theme of "3D printing and green manufacturing" and "metal processing efficiency improvement" respectively on August 8. Then relevant experts and scholars will voice opinions and exchange ideas under the themes.
