On August 26, the Member Congress of the Guangxi Foundry Association (GXFA) took lace at Yulin Hotel, with the participation of over 40 member representatives.

Founded in 2009, GXFA is made up of casting manufacturers, foundry equipment and material suppliers, research institutions of higher education and foundry workers. At the conference, Lin Dingfu, council chairman of GXFA, gave a work report in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. According to sources, Guangxi's casting output stood at 700,000 tons in 2012, up 67 percent from 2007. Guangxi's foundry industry has extensively used advanced foundry processes, technologies and equipment, and introduced advanced and efficient molding lines to produce quality castings. As a member of GXFA, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. has been up to domestic and world leading standards in terms of foundry technology. In 2012, Yuchai kept its casting rejection rate under 2 percent. Yuchai Foundry has been listed among China's 1,000 key foundry enterprises and China's top 100 foundry enterprises (1st edition).

Yuchai Foundry has increased investment in equipment, its investment in management is heavy, combined with the complete foundry talent training system, Yuchai's foundry layout is great, strong and very influential in Guangxi, said Lin in an interview.

According to sources, Yuchai Foundry has built Phase 1 and 2 production lines of the foundry center, achieving a qualitative leap in technological equipment and technical level of foundry, working environment, means of quality control and actual effects. With products covering key castings of Yuchai's all engine series such as cylinder body, cylinder cover and crankshaft, Yuchai Foundry has been capable of producing 180,000 tons of castings annually. In the first half of this year, Yuchai Foundry produced 69,000 tons of castings, up nearly 40 percent year on year.
