From April 26 to 28, NY9320 large-power medium-speed engine, independently developed by CSR Yuchai Sichuan Engine Co., Ltd., made a brilliant appearance at  the 11th China (Shanghai) International Power and Generating Sets Exhibition (Power Shanghai 2012). The engine filled Chinas gap in the field of large-power medium-speed diesel engines with a single-cylinder power of more than 500 kilowatts, marking Chinas new achievement in industrialization of major technologies and high-end equipment manufacturing.

According to sources, Power, organized by China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association (CICEIA), is a prioritized platform for technical exchanges and business cooperation in the international power equipment industry, and has become a renowned branded exhibition in the industry. With an exhibition area of 15,000 square meters, Power Shanghai 2012 was held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre from April 26 to 28, attracting more than 200 enterprises from home and abroad. As a major professional engine manufacturer in west China, CSR Yuchai appeared at the exhibition with its latest research fruit NY9320 large-power medium-speed engine, drawing extensive attention from the industry.

To become a promoter of Chinas power industry, as a professional engine manufacture jointly established by CSR and Yuchai, CSR Yuchai has pressed ahead with independent innovation in recent years on strength of its tremendous engine R & D and manufacturing resources, and has invested heavily in independently developing and manufacturing NY9320 high-end engines since 2010. 

Persons from all walks of life pay attention to CSR Yuchais product

The Sichuan Provincial Committee and Provincial Government have given strong support for the project by including the companys NY320-dominated large, medium & small-power engine industrialization project and high-end marine engine manufacturing project among Sichuans prioritized emerging strategic projects, requiring the company to further perfect and promote the development of its upstream and downstream industry chain as a fresh force in Sichuans major equipment industry, to promote the comprehensive upgrading of the industry and give better play to its driving role in the industry. 

The first NY9320 large-power engine with a total weight of more than 50 tons was assembled in September 2011, was started up successfully and entered the stage of type testing on October 26; in April 2012, the performance test of the first NY9320 was wrapped up. With a single-cylinder power of 510kW, the engine uses electric injection technology, has characteristics such as large power, high strength, low noise, low emission, low maintenance and long life, can burn 700cst heavy oil with a fuel consumption rate of only 183g/kW.h, is up to advanced world tier-2 emission standards stipulated by IMO, has multiple configuration options tailored to customer demands, is easy to maintain, has filled a domestic gap in terms of power range, is not only urgently needed in the market, but also meets the requirements of various ships built by domestic shipyards at present and for a long time to come. The engine enjoys advantages in technology and price over similar domestic and overseas diesel engines, and is in good demand in the domestic fields of main and auxiliary marine power and onshore power generation. 

The booth is crowded with visitors  

During the exhibition, CSR Yuchai held the first distributor conference, discussing the actualities, trends, development and other relevant issues of Chinas internal combustion power generation industry with experts and scholars, machinery manufacturers, parts suppliers and distributors in the engine industry.
