On February 27, the oath-taking ceremony of fulfilling the production target in 2014 and making a good beginning of "second startup" took place at the 4F production workshop of Engine Plant 4. Among over 190 attendees were General Manager Wu Qiwei, Vice General Manager Liang Qingyan and Deputy Party Secretary Ye Bin of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.; Chen Jinyuan, president of Yuchai Technician Association (YTA); managers of Yuchai's plants and technician representatives from Yuchai's subsidiaries.

At the ceremony, led by the senior technician Lu Ying, all technicians read the letter of determination, pledging to return to zero, hold fast to the target, make great efforts to implement relevant tasks, keep to the quality concept of "zero defect, zero tolerance", enhance sensitivity to faults, make innovation and improvement constantly, advance transformation and upgrading, and comprehensively enhance the core competitiveness of SQCDD, thus fulfilling the annual target of 560,000 units and succeeding in the "second startup".

YTA called on the technicians to work hard to turn the target set by the company into reality, carry forward their spirit of pragmatism and fight, lead apprentices and newcomers to sharpen their skills on respective posts, gain strength and follow the new steps of Yuchai's "second startup" to fulfill relevant tasks perfectly.

Wu said, it is exciting that Yuchai was the first to bring its annual engine sales to 500,000 units in the industry. In this process, Yuchai's first-line workers, technicians and marketers made painstaking efforts. Despite a large sales scale of 500,000 units, Yuchai is not superior in market share, especially segment share, but inferior to domestic and foreign model enterprises. Thus, we must make the company strong and specialized in the "second startup".

Wu said, concretely, the five-year plan newly revised in 2014 should be implemented first. During plan implementation, the "second startup" should be advanced systematically according to the development and business modes of business divisions. This covers product R & D, design, manufacturing, market and strategic cooperation with vehicle plants, after-sales service. Scale is not only reflected in sales expansion, but also in product quality improvement. Second, efforts should be made to further investment promotion with a focus on construction of Yuchai Industrial New City, and introduce core parts manufacturers to build plants in the city, to reduce Yuchai's logistics cost, enhance product quality and increase the delivery rate.

At the ceremony, Wu presented flags to YTA's seven teams including the internal combustion engine technician team, the casting technician team, the electromechanical maintenance technician team and the tooling technician team. Heads of YTA's various sectors signed letters of responsibility with Chen. YTA's new technicians took admission oaths. And the technician representatives signed the oath-taking bulletin board.
