On February 28, the engine assembly training base of the heavy machinery assembly & commissioning workshop of Engine Plant 5 of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery) was inaugurated. General Manager Wu Qiwei and Deputy Party Secretary Ye Bin of Yuchai Machinery inaugurated the base.

According to Chen Hai, manager of Engine Plant 5, the base is aimed to comprehensively enhance the staff's basic skills and ensure assembly consistency. With an area of 135 square meters, the base has set up 13 items closely related to practical work according to the rule of learning, such as work safety, recognition of the plant, recognition of products, recognition of technological processes, recognition of fasteners, recognition of tools, recognition of documents, recording and practical training. The base can accommodate 20 to 30 trainees once.

Wu praised the base's construction. The base's buildup has opened a new page of Yuchai's product consistency and practical training, and the training integrating theory with practice can solidify our achievements in lean production and training, he said.

Wu gave instruction in base construction. He required that the base should pay attention to engine emission advancement during construction, and the experience should be extended to procedures like casting, machining and testing on the basis of solidifying the base achievements to build training bases for casting, machining and testing, etc.
