Starting in 2013, CCTV "China Model Entrepreneur" searched entrepreneurial heroes in China's over 100 local top universities, 100 counties and 20 most representative cities in more than a year. As one of CCTV's annual major events, the event invited celebrities such as Liu Chuanzhi, Wang Jianlin, Wang Wenyin, Guo Donglin, Wang Lizong and Liu Danning as entrepreneurship mentors. Yan was also invited.
After three sessions of intense competition lasting more than four hours, two of Guangdong's top five contestants will move into the final of CCTV "China Model Entrepreneur" on behalf of Guangdong. In the competition, the five contestants elaborated on their entrepreneurial ideals. The competition also tested the contestants' team spirit and professional quality through sessions such as teamwork and individual show.
Yan commented on and analyzed the contestants' problems. He said the fundamental principle and system should be defined in the early days of entrepreneurship, the relationship among responsibility, authority and benefit must be clearly prescribed and shall not be changed arbitrarily, and problems arising in entrepreneurship should be handled appropriately under principles and in accordance with laws and regulations.
The contestants also demonstrated their unique innovative spirit. To this, Yan said innovation is critical to the sustainable development of an enterprise, leading products today will not necessarily maintain their status in the future, and an enterprise must attach great important to R & D investment, pay attention to technological staff and unswervingly input more resources into R & D.
Yan also noted an enterprise must bring the team's role into play, pool different advantages and make advancement in a planned and systematic manner in order to achieve good results.
Yan appreciated the young people who dared to build dreams in the competition. He said both passion and dream are most important, only high passion can push causes forward and one cannot participate in a great cause without passion. Yuchai's "second startup" similarly needs the concerted efforts of all Yuchai staff in dream building.
According to sources, Yan will also attend the finals of "China Model Entrepreneur" in other provinces and municipalities, and related programs are expected to be broadcast on CCTV in May.
