With the gradual expansion of the implementation scope of the national IV emission standards for heavy-duty vehicles in 2014, truck manufacturers have begun to vigorously popularize national IV trucks. The new product release conferences of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. (DFLZM) have recently taken place in cities like Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou and Guangzhou, drawing wide attention from local truck customers.

In the interviews on the scene, cvworld's reporter found fuel-conserving, powerful and reliable Yuchai national IV engines are also a key factor for customers' trust in DFLZM's trucks apart from the superior quality of its heavy-duty vehicles.

Yuchai boosts sales boom of DFLZM's new national IV trucks

On March 21, the release conference for DFLZM's national IV trucks took place in Chengdu. The conference focused on national IV 84 lightweight Balong heavy-duty truck and Balong Cummins M7C tractor, attracting over 150 visitors. The two vehicles were widely recognized by customers for their outstanding performance, and 14 units were ordered on the scene.

"Representing domestic national IV heavy-duty trucks, the Balong heavy-duty truck can meet needs of various operating conditions. Powered by Yuchai's upgraded fuel-conserving 315hp engine, it is more powerful and fuel-conserving," DFLZM's technician told the reporter.

On March 23, the release conference for DFLZM's national IV trucks organized by DFLZM in association with Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. took place in Zhengzhou, attracting nearly 200 representatives of transport enterprises and truck customers. Two national IV Yuchai-powered trucks presented--42 four-cylinder 160hp Chenglong medium-duty truck and 84 six-cylinder 280hp Balong heavy-duty truck got orders for 10 units within only five hours," a salesperson of DFLZM told the reporter.

DFLZM's technician told the reporter the reasons for customers' close attention to DFLZM's trucks are their fuel-conserving and high-efficiency "hearts" apart from their outstanding quality.

"For example, the Balong national IV heavy-duty truck released this time is known as a 'fuel-conserving and lightweight model for'. It carries Yuchai 280hp 8.42L fuel-conserving engine and an electromagnetic fan clutch which effectively reduce its fuel consumption in vehicle operation; with lightweight chassis, low-speed-ratio rear axle and over drive transmission, it has a maximum speed of 120km/h as a model for capacity, speed, fuel conservation.

According to sources, boosted by Yuchai engines, the two new national IV truck release conferences in Shijiazhuang and Guangzhou similarly drew close attention from customers with some 20 units ordered at each.

Customers: Yuchai engines are more fuel-conserving and efficient

As the saying goes, "Neither gold trophies nor silver ones outweigh customer reputation", DFLZM's sales boom has been inseparable from customers' high recognition of DFLZM's product quality and Yuchai's engine performance.

"I used to feel national IV vehicles were too expensive. After learning about the performance of DFLZM's IV vehicles, especially Yuchai national IV engines, I find they are not only environmentally-friendly, but also more fuel-conserving and efficient. They are very suitable in the long run," a truck customer from Chengdu told the reporter.

Another truck customer from Chengdu added, "Due to the low fuel consumption of Yuchai national IV engines, DFLZM's Balong vehicles can save 400 yuan to 500 yuan in a round trip compared to other vehicles. Fuel cost alone can be saved by over 30,000 yuan per year, basically covering the cost for national IV upgrading.

A loyal customer of DFLZM from Henan said, "The 270hp Balong truck I bought earliest has operated for three years and covered 200,000 kilometers, it has almost never broken down and even the engine has not been opened yet. According to its current condition, the truck can operate for a few more years." Out of recognition, he ordered another Yuchai-powered Balong heavy-duty truck on the scene.

"Furthermore, I think Yuchai's after-sales service is good based on my years of use experience. Despite the high reliability of Yuchai engines, Yuchai's after-sales service staff visited us every now and then to help us test engines and reminded us of drive notes to prevent possible risks in time," the customer from Henan added.

With truck customers' high trust, it is foreseeable that Yuchai engines will enhance DFLZM's truck sales as national IV heavy-duty vehicles go into operation in more and more areas.
