Organized by the National Defense Science and Technology Industrial Enterprise Management Association, the China Academy of Aerospace Systems Science and Technology, the Committee on National Security Strategy and Defense Economics Research, the China Technology Exchange and the National Council of Dual Use Technologies & Products, the "2014 China Military & Civil Technology Application Advancement Conference" has recently taken place in Beijing. Zhang Zhengqing, chairman of CSR Yuchai Sichuan Engine Co., Ltd. (CSR Yuchai) was invited to the conference. The conference presented the trophy of "China's Top 10 Innovative Enterprises of Military & Civil Technologies" to CSR Yuchai.

Under the theme of "transferring military technologies for civil use and channeling private capital into military projects", the conference was aimed to explore the efficient mechanism and strategy of accomplishing the popularization and conversion of military and civil technologies, and to provide decision reference for relevant departments to work out policies and plans for integrated military and civil development in the "thirteenth five-year" period.

To build model enterprises promoting the development of China's military and civil technologies, encourage outstanding enterprises to manufacture military products and transfer military technologies for civil use, and promote the transformation of military technological achievements, the conference selected "China's Top 10 Innovative Enterprises of Military & Civil Technologies" in 2014. Upon rigorous preliminary evaluation and final review, the review panel consisting of domestic authoritative experts at military and civil integration conferred the title of "China's Top 10 Innovative Enterprises of Military & Civil Technologies" on CSR Yuchai for making a positive contribution to the popularization and application of China's military and civil technologies by successfully developing a series of medium and high-speed engines burning diesel, heavy oil and gas based on national and national defense construction in the critical period of promoting integrated military and civil development, especially 16V280 engine which has been used on two 500t ro-ro ships.
