Good news has recently come from the "Labor Day" Award Conference held by the Wuhu Federation of Trade Unions that Sun Ronghua of Y & C Engine Co., Ltd. (Y & C Engine) won Wuhu's "Labor Medal".

Sun now works as chairman of the Labor Union of Y & C Engine and vice manager of the Manufacturing Department of Y & C Engine. He has made remarkable contributions in such aspects as worker culture construction, technical renovation and work safety.

After taking up the post of chairman of the labor union in January 2011, to stabilize the worker team and enrich their cultural life, Sun strove for external support to build a basketball court, a football pitch and a club for workers. To resolve workers' practical problems, Sun organized the first enterprise aid station of the Trade Union of Sanshan District, visited over 30 needy workers and applied for an aid fund of nearly 20,000 yuan.

In support of national environmental protection, Sun led his team to develop the engine energy recovery & coated co-generation system. The system can recover over 2.9 million kilowatts-hour of electricity and save cost by 1.5 million yuan annually for Y & C Engine. Thus, the company won a technological incentive fund of 400,000 yuan from Wuhu, and the utility model patent for "a energy recovery system for engine test bench" declared by the company was authorized by the State Intellectual Property Office.

In terms of work safety, organized by Sun, Y & C Engine has established and improved its safety management system, and implemented the system of work safety responsibility. The company has been up to relevant safety standards for three consecutive years, passed OHSAS18001 occupational healthy and safety system certification, and been honored as "second-class machinery enterprise for safety quality standardization".
