The first YC6C-powered 4,500t river & sea freighter--"Fengwang 18" has recently succeeded in trial operation in Nantong, Jiangsu Province.
With a length of 86 meters, a breadth of 17 meters and a molded depth of 4.6 meters, the 4,500t freighter uses two YC6C units as the main engines, 1 YC6M unit and 1 YC6B unit as the auxiliary engines and 1 YC2115 unit as the backup auxiliary engine. It can be described as a river & sea freighter with "Yuchai core".
The debut of "Fengwang 18" freighter attracted a dozen ship owners from areas such as Taizhou and Nantong who got aboard the freighter. After starting up, "Fengwang 18" cleaved through the waves on the Yangtze River like a dragon. It attracted ship owners and inspectors to the cabin to view the engines due to their outstanding performance such as strong power, good stability, low fuel consumption and good smoke intensity.
After viewing the trial operation, many ship owners showed strong interest in YC6C marine engines. Next day 4 ship owners placed an order with Yuchai for 8 YC6C marine engines.
