On July 26, the "2014 Chinese Industrial-Economic Enterprise Social Responsibility Report Release Conference & Release Ceremony of the 1st Rating List of Chinese Industrial Enterprises Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility" took place in Beijing. Yuchai Group attended the conference and ceremony with its 7th sustainable development report (SDR).

Sources said a total of 59 enterprises released SDRs this year. According to Yuchai's "Green Development & Harmony Win-win"--2013 Sustainable Development Report, in 2013, guided by the core values of "Green Development & Harmony Win-win", Yuchai Group conducted management responsibly in full course in accordance with the ISO26000 International Standards for Social Responsibility and the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, paid attention to life, resource and environment management, built green Yuchai and created green value, thus accomplishing sustainable development.

The conference was themed "Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility to Boost Quality and Efficiency". At the conference, the China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) innovatively established the rating standards for social responsibility fulfillment. As the first yardstick for comprehensively evaluating the level of social responsibility management and fulfillment performance in China's machinery industry, the rating will motivate a large number of industrial enterprises in vying to be pioneers in China and the world and promote the emergence of more world corporate citizens.

At the conference, Li Yizhong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, vice chairman of the Economic Committee of the CPPCC Central Committee and president of CFIE, delivered a speech, saying China's economic and social development has entered a "period of acceleration and power shift", China's social development has entered a "period of sharp contradictions", and China's reform has entered a "period of overcoming hardships and difficulties". Persistent development is still the key to resolving all our problems. Social responsibility fulfillment is an effective way to maximize enterprises' economic, social and environmental value. He expounded the importance and necessity of fulfillment of corporate social responsibility, stressing honesty is the ideological foundation and bottom moral line of fulfillment of corporate social responsibility and eco-civilization construction is the top priority. At last, he hoped that enterprises should recognize their historical missions, turn them into the endogenous power for social responsibility fulfillment, consciously put it into practice, constantly make new achievements and endeavor to accomplish the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
