On October 16, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, visited the New Product Development Center of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery), to inquire about workshop construction, new product development and future planning. Liang Qingyan, vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery, showed Yan around the center.

According to sources, the center broke ground in June 2013 and was built up in May 2014 after one year and one month of construction. With an area of 7,000 square meters, the center works on fast manufacturing, process and material testing and new product development.

During the visit, corporate leaders including the senior expert at die technology Chen Jinyuan reported the R & D progress of new technologies and materials such as high-end water jacket technology of high-strength ultra thin bodies and new alloy aluminum materials, as well as the center's plan for future technical exchanges with countries developed in manufacturing such as Germany.

There were several boxes filled with scrap iron before a working intermediate frequency furnace. Learning that the scrap iron will be returned to the furnace for recycling, Yan said happily that it is great and scrap iron recycling is exactly developing the cyclic economy and saving resources.

Yan also visited posts such as nonmetallic material test and fatigue test one by one, listened to introductions carefully, and inquired about the center's other work.
