On December 10, a delegation led by Zhong Xiaojin, deputy director general of the Register of Fishing Vessel of the People's Republic of China (CFR) visited Yuchai for a survey on the management of marine diesel engine spectrums. Ning Xingyong, Party secretary of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery); Tan Guirong, acting vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery and heads of the Marine Department of Yuchai Machinery attended the meeting.

According to the source, to standardize the power calibration of diesel engines for fishing vessels, strengthen the spectrum and marking management of diesel engines for fishing vessels, and ensure the effective implementation of the policies related to the power of diesel engines for fishing vessels, the Ministry of Agriculture released the Measures for Management of Spectrums and Markings of Diesel Engines for Fishing Vessels early this year, to define the power calibration and marking management of diesel engines for fishing vessels.

Zhong said, under the principles of science, objectivity, fairness and authority, upon rigorous review by the expert panel, the first batch of 497 diesel engines for fishing vessels has recently been made public. The survey is intended to solicit opinions on marine engine spectrum management from fishing vessel engine manufacturers, shipyards, ship owners and fishermen.

Zhong noted that the Measures for Management of Spectrums and Markings of Diesel Engines for Fishing Vessels were released to eliminate the phenomenon that "marked power is smaller than actual power", so as to lay the groundwork for the effective implementation of the policies related to the power of diesel engines for fishing vessels. The measures will serve the implementation of national fishery policies, satisfy fishermen and ship owners, and guide them in selecting marine engines with the best cost performance. Also, it will satisfy engine manufacturers to make them compete in a fair and orderly manner.

Ning introduced Yuchai's general information at the meeting. He said that Yuchai attaches great importance to marine engine R & D and quality improvement. With low fuel consumption and high stability and reliability, Yuchai's marine diesel engines are comparable to international brands. The visit of CFR's leaders has filled Yuchai with confidence. Yuchai will spare no efforts to support the management of spectrums of diesel engines for fishing vessels.

The delegation also visited the test center of Yuchai R & D Center and the large marine engine workshop of Engine Plant 6 to view the testing and manufacturing of marine engines. Leaders of the Guangxi Aquaculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinarian Bureau and the Guangxi Fishing Vessel Inspection Bureau accompanied the delegation.
