Good news has come in golden October. Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) has claimed the autonomous region chairman quality award, the highest quality award of the autonomous region, and a bonus of 1 million yuan.

The Conference on the Prosperity of Guangxi and the Presenting of 1st Chairman Quality Award took place on October 29. Among attendees were leaders including Guo Shengkun, Party secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Peoples Congress; Liu Pingjun, vice minister of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Ma Biao, deputy Party secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and chairman of the Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region presided over the conference. Lan Tianli, vice chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, read the award documents. Yan Ping, chairman of YM, was present and received the autonomous region chairman quality award on behalf of Yuchai.

The award ceremony commenced at 10 AM. Guo and Ma presented the prizewinning enterprises with the trophy and certificate of the 1st autonomous region chairman quality award.

The autonomous region chairman quality award is the highest quality award established by the autonomous region peoples government this year, which targets the enterprises or organizations that play an industrial and domestic leading role in outstanding performance management mode implementation, quality management and independent innovation, and have yielded remarkable economic and social benefits. The award is based on a comprehensive assessment of participated enterprises in seven aspects including leadership, strategy, customer and market, resources, process management, measurement analysis and improvement, and business results. A dozen enterprises applied for the award this time, eight were shortlisted for a site review by the autonomous region review committee, and eventually four enterprises including YM claimed the 1st autonomous region chairman quality award. The award is not only an assessment of product quality, but also a comprehensive review of enterprises overall business quality.

Aiming at the current situation of Guangxis quality work and its future quality orientation, Guo noted in recent years, Guangxi has implemented the strategy of prospering Guangxi through quality building, made great strides in product quality, engineering quality, service quality and ecological and environmental quality in recent years, and been up to advanced national standards in terms of diesel engine and wheeled loader quality. However, we must be soberly aware that pressing ahead with the strategy of prospering the country through quality building is an urgent need to ensure and improve the peoples livelihood, an inherent requirement of adjusting the economic structure and changing development modes, a strategic choice of adhering in scientific development and building a well-off society, as well as the only way to increase comprehensive national strength and accomplish the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. All enterprises and institutions should establish the concept of seeking existence and promoting developing through quality building, accelerate the transformation from technical innovation to technical standardization, strengthen brand building, push forward the strategy of brand development and tighten production process quality control to explore a new road of quality development combining quality and benefit.

According to sources, by outstanding achievements in performance management and quality management, YM has won several national and autonomous region honors consecutively this year, including the title of quality benchmark for industrial enterprises from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in June, and the title of national outstanding enterprise in mass quality management activities in the machinery industry from the China Machine Building Quality Management Association, the National Committee of the Chinese Machinery, Metallurgical and Building Materials Workers Union and the China Association of Machinery Industry Culture in early July. YMs experience has also drawn wide attention. On the afternoon of October 29, YM attended the autonomous region quality forum and introduced its experience to other attendees as a representative of the enterprises that had won the 1st autonomous region chairman quality award.
