Recently, the inaugural ceremony of Dalian Yuchai Turbo Technology Research and Development Center Co., Ltd. (DYTTRDC) and the establishing ceremony of Yuchai Scholarship took place in Dalian Jiaotong University (DJTU). The companys establishment marks Yuchai has teamed up with DJTU in an effort to break international turbo technology barrier and build a globally influential turbo technology industry base and a high-tech turbo technology and product circulation base.

Among leaders present were Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group; Ge Jiping, Party secretary of DJTU; Li Xuewei, president of DJTU; Lu Lin, secretary of the Party Work Committee and chairman of the Administrative Committee of Dalian Free Trade Zone; and Zhou Sunhai, vice president of Yuchai Group.

The newly-established center was established with a joint investment of Yuchai Jinchuang Co., Ltd. and DJTU. The companys businesses cover the fields of turbo products including marine turbocharger, such as design, development, trial-manufacture, sale, technical service and training.

The operation of the center will promote the development of Chinas turbo technology industry, create a strong turbocharger and turbo technology R & D platform centering on independent technologies, geared to global cutting-edge technologies, drumming up support from the outside and serving the inside, to shake off Chinas dependence on imported high-end turbo products, laying a solider technical foundation for Yuchai to set foot in fields including marine power.

Yan addressed the ceremony. DJTU has a solid manufacturing foundation, and the cooperation has wide space for development after extensive surveys and demonstration, Yan said, hoping researchers and developers will conduct in-depth researches on their posts and bring their intelligence into play to push forward the development of Chinas high-end turbo technologies, achieve breakthrough in core technologies as soon as possible, keep pace with world level and promote the development of the national industry.

Besides building a high-caliber platform for domestic turbo technology researches in cooperation with DJTU, Yuchai also invested 500,000 yuan in setting up Yuchai Scholarship to support DJTUs outstanding but needy students. Zhou handed a check to Liu Ximing, deputy Party secretary of DJTU.

Li thanked Yuchai for its strong support for education. DJTU has stayed focused on talent training quality, penetrated the campus culture characteristic of DJTU into all links of talent training, and trained a host of adaptable and loyal talents based on the grass-roots level and working steadily and hard, Li said, adding Chairman Yan Ping is exactly an outstanding alumnus admitted to DJTU in 1982 and the pride of DJTU! That Yuchai and Chairman Yan rewarded outstanding students with the fruit of corporate development has shown Yuchais close attention to education, the social sense of an outstanding enterprise and the great affection of the alumni for their alma mater.
