On the night of October 13, Yuchai northwest campus recruitment presentation was held at the lecture hall of Changan University (CAU). Professor Jian Xiaoping, dean of the Department of Power Engineering of the School of Automobile of CAU; Wang Wei, chief economist of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM); Pang Jian, deputy manager of the HR Department of YM; Wang Hui, chief technical engineer of light vehicle engine combustion development; Zeng Minghui, chief logistics engineer of Yuchai Logistics Co., Ltd.; Chen Jie, manager of the Division of Integrated Management of the Yulin Department of Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited and Wu Jian, deputy director of the Management Department of CSR Yuchai Sichuan Engine Co., Ltd. attended the presentation.
CAU, directly under the Ministry of Education, is a key university in the National Program 211. Its majors including mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, vehicle engineering and mechanical electronic engineering were selected as national featured majors, and it boasts the only integrated test field among colleges and universities in the country. This year coincides with CAU and Yuchais 60th anniversary, adding splendor to Yuchais presentation at CAU. More than an hour before the presentation, the lecture hall was fully occupied. Besides students from the main campus of CAU, undergraduates and postgraduates from universities like Xian Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Northwest A & F University, and even Lanzhou University of Technology (LUT) and Lanzhou University had come all the way for the presentation.
At the beginning of the presentation, Wang asked humorously if the attendees knew the historical relations between concubine and litchi in the famous verse A horse makes the concubine smile, but no one knows the reason is that the horse has carried litchi? Actually, hundreds of years ago, Yulin and Xian had been attached to each other. Concubine Yang was born in Rongxian, Yulin, what made her happy was litchi transported from Rongxian to Xian. His remarks aroused a burst of laugher, bringing the speaker and the audience closer. Next, under the theme starting from Yuchai, with actual cases, from multiple perspectives, Wang elaborated on Yuchais history and future development plan, independent innovation and research findings, advanced management and talent training to offer the attendees a full understanding of Yuchai. At last, Wang said Yuchai always values talent training and has a broad stage, and graduates are welcome to join Yuchai and start from Yuchai. His remarks aroused thunderous applause.
Students consult recruiters
Li Changjiang, a major in thermal energy and power engineering from LUT, said excitedly, I was born in Yulin and have been paying attention to Yuchais recruitment for a year. To attend the fair, I have travelled nine hours by train from Lanzhou to Xian, and waited outside the venue at 11 a.m. till the start of the presentation in the night, because I dont want to miss it.
Lan Minjin, a major in automobile application engineering from CAU said, What distinguishes Yuchai from other companies is that its leaders values the fair, many of them have come here personally to communicate with us, not like previous recruitment fairs delivered by other companies.
All students hoped to receive text messages of interview notices from Yuchais call center, and to join Yuchai to grow with it.
According to sources, within only two hours following the presentation, the number of resumes submitted online soared by 30%, suggesting a flying start for Yuchais 2011 CAU campus recruitment fair.
