Upon joint review by experts organized by the Industry and Information Technology Commission, the Science and Technology Department and the Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the R & D center of Yuchai Huayuan Machinery (Yulin) Co., Ltd. (Huayuan) was accredited as a district-level corporate R & D center. Among the other 45 accredited enterprises was Nannan Aluminum Co., Ltd.

In recent three years, Huayuan has perfected the R & D, testing and trial-manufacturing conditions of its R & D center, strengthened talent team building, vigorously improved its R & D capacity, and invested nearly 6 million yuan to introduce advanced technical development instruments and testing equipment such as multi-pass test benches for diesel and oil filters, spectrum analyzers and oil-water separation test benches; has cultivated and introduced professional talents in fields such as high polymer material research; and has set up special research and incentive funds, and established a perfect management system to ensure the efficient operation of the R & D center. The company's average annual R & D investment has accounted for over 3.5 percent of its primary operating revenues in recent three years. The company has applied for and won seven utility model patents and three design patents, and one patent for invention has entered the stage of substantive examination. In recent three years, the company has worked with the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering, South China University of Technology, and built a united R & D center with the laboratory to develop quality filtration materials.

The accreditation is full recognition of Huayuan's efforts in enterprise-university-institute cooperation and innovation in recent three years. In the next period, the company will continue to intensify R & D and innovation capacity building, so as to build the R & D center into an R & D base and talent cultivation base making independent innovation, develop higher-level, cost-effective, leading and applicable filters, and gradually transform the enterprise into a technology-oriented enterprise in the domestic filter industry.
