The service engineers of Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited (YHI) have recently driven over 200 kilometers from Haikou to the Baisha Li Autonomous County to visit Boss Lu, a Yuchai excavator user.

"Sorry, I have been delayed by a talk with a rubber user," Lu who had just hurried back home brimmed with smile at the sight of YHI's service engineers.

Lu said to the visiting service engineers of YHI, "I have thousands of rubber trees and each yielded substantial income every day. I am quite busy every day due to the high engineering qualities for the YC35 excavator and the YC13 excavator. Since purchasing the YC13 excavator in 2010, engineering quantities have increased and my family life has been well off. It is not easy to recruit an operator in the remote Baisha Li Autonomous County, so my son operated the YC13 excavator, over 80 percent of work is excavation and fertilization in the rubber plantation, the labor cost basically ranges from 120 yuan/h to 130 yuan/h, higher than other areas. As engineering quantities continued increasing in early 2011, the YC13 excavator could not meet the engineering demand, so I bought an YC35 excavator more.

There are many bosses with two or three Yuchai excavators who have more engineering quantities than they can handle like Lu in the rest of Hainan, according to sources. Owing to their high quality and high operating efficiency, Yuchai mini excavators have been widely used in work conditions such as rubber plantations, municipal engineering and landscape planning in Hainan.
