On July 6, a delegation led by Su Yidan, director of the dean's office of Guangxi University (GXU), visited Yuchai for a survey on improving GXU's quality of outstanding engineering training and perfecting the pilot school-enterprise cooperation program for outstanding engineer training. Corporate leaders including Guan Min, vice president of Yuchai Group and Ye Bin, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. warmly received the visitors.

At the seminar, Prof. Huang Haozhong of the College of Mechanical Engineering, GXU, introduced the details of the "3+1" training mode for outstanding engineer in thermal energy and power engineering, having a positive and beneficial discussion with Yuchai about the outstanding engineer teaching program.

Also, the two sides probed into the plan for building an engineering practice and education center. According to sources, GXU has planned to build a multimedia classroom at Yuchai, which will serve the teaching purpose of GXU's students practicing at Yuchai, will be provided for internal use by Yuchai on the basis of accommodating students' use and will be uniformly scheduled and managed by the training center. This will help to ease the use tension of the company's multimedia training facilities and ensure that the training better meets staff's demands.

According to Su, GXU has made great strides in higher education but remains deficient in practical teaching. To train applied engineering talents with good knowledge structure, strong innovative ability and high comprehensive quality, GXU will closely gear its future teaching design to corporate demands, consider making improvements in engineering orientation, application orientation, society orientation and full-process interaction, break traditional systems and teaching modes, add class hours of practical teaching, and arrange students for one-year learning and graduation design at enterprises under the four-year educational system at Yuchai, with a focus on improving students' original innovation ability.

Ye praised GXU's precise teaching attitude and spirit of advancing reforms and innovation with the times, hoping to build quality talent training platforms by intensifying cooperation with enterprises and transfer more outstanding applicable basic engineer talents for Yuchai's internationalized development
