New target set at Yuchai Petronas Marketing Conference 2013

On July 19, the Marketing Conference of Yuchai Petronas Lubricants Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Petronas) took place at Guangxi Wharton International Hotel under the theme of "complementation, cooperation and win-win". Present at the conference were leaders like Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group and Amir Hamzah Azizam, CEO of Petronas Lubricants International Sdn Bhd. Xie Yuqaing, chairman of Yuchai Petronas, presided over the conference.

Among a total of over 180 attendees were representatives of over 20 subsidiaries of Yuchai Group, representatives of the sales system and marine power system of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., directors of Yuchai's local offices, representatives of Yuchai's local service stations and staff of Yuchai Petronas.

Founded in 1974, after nearly 40 years of development, Petronas has developed into a petroleum and gas group with operations in 63 countries.

Product singleness has always been the bottleneck on the development of Yuchai Lubricants. In view of that, Yuchai Group and Petronas previously concluded a strategic cooperation agreement to establish Yuchai Petronas Lubricants Co., Ltd. to achieve the mutual complementation of resource advantage and technical advantage, constantly improve the capacity for product R & D and perfect the product chain. To date, Yuchai Petronas has formed a pattern of "four areas, three bases and five companies", based itself on Yuchai R & D Center and Yuchai Friction & Lubrication Research Institute, and synchronized its R & D and testing with Yuchai Engine, thus achieving engine oil integration.

At the conference, Yuchai pledged all-out efforts to support the sale and R & D of Yuchai Petronas' products, raising specific requirements for the coordinated sale and development of its subsidiaries, offices and service stations. Li Qibang, general manager of Yuchai Petronas, set an annual growth target of not less than 20 percent.

Yan raised specific requirements in terms of joint venture management and product sale and R & D. He said the cooperation between Yuchai and Petronas marks the internationalization of Yuchai. Yuchai's management team has limited knowledge and has no international vision. As an internationalized enterprise, Petronas has an enlightened and tolerant culture, and is far superior to Yuchai Lubricants in terms of R & D capacity and marketing planning. The cooperation between the two sides is certain to boost the competitiveness of Yuchai Lubricants.

Yan hoped that Yuchai Petronas would work out a development plan for the coming three to five years as soon as possible; actively coordinate with Yuchai's subsidiaries, offices and service stations; make great efforts in planning and R & D; strive to build an influential and competitive brand in China and a worldwide sales network.

Also, Yan raised requirements for the management of Yuchai Petronas, calling for efforts to establish new business order and systems, and discuss the building of a new operation system to adjust to the development of the Chinese-foreign joint venture. The management team of Yuchai Pentronas should have international vision. The functional departments of Yuchai Group should conduct moderate control and explore a control mode more conducive to the development of Yuchai Petronas.

In the afternoon, Yuchai Petronas also held a management meeting, and the newly management team was sworn in office.
