In the first half of 2013, Yuchai's engine sales soared above the industry, marking the first-time sales growth of Yuchai's engine sectors in recent two or three years. On July 20, Yuchai's high-level leaders and marketing backbone summarized the company's marketing performance in the first half of this year at the headquarters in Yulin, arranging the marketing work for the second half to march towards to the annual target of 470,000 units.
With the development of Chinese automobile, since 2011, the global and Chinese auto markets have entered a new stage, putting an end to a blowout period of 10 years and bringing in a "micro growth" period registering single-digit growth. In this context, Yuchai seized the hard-won opportunity of market recovery in the first half of this year and actively coped with the micro growth of the overall market, thus boosting engine sales.
According to sources, the first half of this year saw significant changes in bus engines: the gas engine sector and the hybrid engine sector soared by 35.8 percent and 386 percent respectively; Yuchai enjoyed prominent advantage in the two markets, with its bus engines remaining ahead in the industry and its market share increasing steadily. In the truck sector, Yuchai's growth higher than the industry was attributable to the rapid development of YC6M, YC6L and gas engines. In the general machinery sector, the agricultural machinery market remained prosperous. Amid the slump of the construction machinery engine market, Yuchai's general machinery engines maintained fast growth with the strong support of the agricultural machinery market. Also, Yuchai registered significant export growth.
According to Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., amid the overall industrial slump, Yuchai's growth in sales, operation quality and benefit in the first half of this year is commendable. The growth has laid a solid foundation for Yuchai's continuous development in the second half of this year, next year and in the year after next.
At the meeting, Yuchai comprehensively arranged the marketing work for the second half, calling on all marketing staff to jump into action to march towards the annual marketing target.
