On July 25, Tian Lipu, commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), visited the Nanning base of Yuchai R & D Center to give guidance on technological intellectual property work and survey Yuchai's efforts in this field.

Zhou Sunhai, vice president of Yuchai Group, reported Yuchai's technological work and achievements in recent years to the delegation led by Tian. Over the years, Yuchai has made bumper technological achievements, with its patent application quantity ranking first in Guangxi for seven straight years. By June 2013, Yuchai had owned 1,224 valid patents including 55 patents for invention, and had transformed 828 patents, thus yielding substantial economic benefit for the enterprise. In the first half of 2013, Yuchai applied for 322 patents, almost the total application quantity in 2012.

Among the third group of national pilot intellectual property enterprises and institutions, the second group of national model intellectual property enterprises and institutions as well as pilot enterprises for the industrial intellectual property creation and application ability training project, Yuchai has led and participated in the formulation of 36 national and industrial standards. Tian admired Yuchai's bumper technological achievements and highly acclaimed Yuchai's achievements in patented technology transformation.

During the survey, Tian highly recognized the capacity building of Yuchai R & D Center. When seeing Yuchai's advanced testing and machining capabilities during visiting the engine test center and the joint trial-manufacturing center, he felt very happy. Also, he came to the posts of test bench and machining to inquire about testing situation and machining capability, noting that Yuchai's technological development will be more successful with advanced R & D and testing capabilities and sophisticated technical equipment. At the new energy trial-manufacturing center, he was interested in Yuchai's independently developed controller, asking about the patenting of the sample on display.

At last, several leaders and guests including Tian went onboard a new energy test vehicle of Yuchai to personally experience the achievement in new energy technology transformation.
