The China-Vietnam broadcast interview team interviewed Tang Haidong, director of Vietnam Office of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.
Vietnamese staff member Nguyen Trung Hieu said Yuchai Vietnam Office is good to the staff and gives a hand whenever they are in difficulty
The China-Vietnam broadcast interview team consisting of journalists from several Chinese and Vietnamese media outlets has recently visited Vietnam Office of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam. According to Tang Haidong, director of Yuchai Vietnam Office, Yuchai Group is the world's largest independent diesel engine manufacturing base as well as China's largest small and medium-sized construction machinery production and export base.
In recent years, with the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and the deepening of China-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation, Yuchai Group known as the "Chinese capital of green power" has upheld the core concept of "Green Development & Harmony Win-win", gained a foothold in ASEAN, gone global and taken the road of internationalized development, thus creating the unique "Yuchai phenomenon".
Yuchai Group has seven offices in Southeast Asia. Vietnam Office is in charge of operations in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, including market development, distributor outlet layout and machinery parts management. The interview team saw a Vietnamese staff member--Nguyen Trung Hieu who was concentrating himself on the work at the office. Were it not for the introduction by the person in charge, the journalists would have thought the staff member was sent by the head office of Yuchai Group.
Journalist: How long have you been here?
Nguyen: About five years.
Journalist: How do you know about Yuchai?
Nguyen: They recruited employees at that time.
Journalist: What do you feel most at Yuchai?
Nguyen: At Yuchai Vietnam Office, we help each other. The office is good to the staff and gives a hand whenever they are in difficulty. I went to the head office once a year for training. There I can learn a lot, have a lot of development opportunities and huge development space.
Tang Haidong believed that Yuchai would develop better in Vietnam
Tang introduced, most staff of Vietnam Office are running businesses and offering after-sales services across Vietnam. The strange environment and tough conditions have boosted the staff's morale.
"We have signed 8 distributors in Vietnam and established 20 parts outlets basically in north and central Vietnam. These outlets can deliver parts to customers within 8 hours. If customers are in south Vietnam, parts can reach in 20 hours. So we value after-sales service as the fundamental to our operations in Vietnam," Tang said.
Since Vietnam Office was established in 1997, especially driven by China-ASEAN Export, Yuchai has stepped up its development in Vietnam, with a market inventory of over 60,000 units to date. Yuchai's products extensively serve Vietnam's relevant fields such as automobile, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and ship. With product quality, performance, after-sales service and parts support highly recognized in the Vietnamese market, Yuchai brand has become the prioritized power of many Vietnamese customers.
Tang introduced, "Halong Bay is a famous tourist attraction in Vietnam. Previously, their cruise liners (engines) were basically from Europe and America. In March 2013, Halong Bay chose Yuchai's products to power its most luxurious cruise liner, including two main engines and three auxiliary engines. The entire ship was powered by Yuchai. The customer has planned to build two new cruise liners and has chosen Yuchai's products without any hesitation.
Now all vehicles running on bus lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, and run by Chongzuo-Lang Son International Coach United Company are powered by Yuchai. With the concept of "Green Development & Harmony Win-win", aiming at its overseas markets, Yuchai Group has been constantly perfecting its products.
Referring to the development plan for the next period, Tang said confidently, "Vietnam is an emerging promising market as well as a key market of Yuchai Group in Southeast Asia. China and Vietnam are linked by mountains and waters, it is only 600 kilometers from our plant to Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, so we enjoy geographical advantage. In the future, the outlook of our cooperation with Vietnam in environmental protection, such as the bus field, will be broad, too. As Vietnam has a long coastline, we can also cooperate with Vietnam in developing marine electric products, especially marine engines in the future. We enjoy geographical advantage and our products suit Vietnam, so we believe we will develop better in Vietnam."
