The laboratory of Yuchai R & D Center has recently completed the assessment and calibration of the emission test of Yuchai's five national V gas engines (YC6MKN, YC6LN, YC6GN, YC4GN and YC6JN) onboard Beiqi Foton buses.
A scene of the onboard emission test
To tighten the control of motor vehicle emission pollution and improve Beijing's air quality, the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau has released the Emission Limits and Measurement Methods of Exhaust Contaminants from Heavy-duty Vehicles, which prescribes emission limits, measurement methods and judgment methods of nitric oxide from heavy-duty vehicles more scientifically and accurately. The standard will come into effect on July 1, 2013. The implementation of the new standard means that heavy-duty vehicles entering Beijing must conform to the emission requirements of the standard. Now all auto works in the country are urgently planning the test.
In late August 2013, Yuchai joined hands with Beiqi Foton to first complete the emission test of the standard, providing strong technical support for the market access of Beiqi Foton's products and demonstrating Yuchai's technical capacity for strictly implementing emission regulations to the industry once again. Besides, the completion of the emission test means that Yuchai-powered vehicles have gained the priority for inclusion in Beijing's environmental protection catalogue, indicating that Yuchai's national V gas engines have got the "golden key" to Beijing market.
