On September 10, the Ministry of Science and Technology released the national key new product program for 2013. According to the program, YC20 hydraulic excavator project of Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited (YHI) was accredited as a national key new product.

YC20 was independently developed by YHI, owns completely independent intellectual property right and is up to leading standards among similar domestic products. It passed Guangxi's technological achievement appraisal in 2010, won the first prize of Yulin for progress in science and technology in 2011 and the third prize of Guangxi for progress in science and technology in 2012.

Using the throttling opening center control system, YC20's hydraulic system appropriately increases pump displacement while ensuring the performance of all hydraulic components to boost the working efficiency of the machine; powered by a mature homemade engine, the excavator provides strong support in terms of quality, after-sales service and parts, and an advanced shock absorber is installed on the engine to reduce shock in operation; the monitoring system is effective with a digitalized LCD combination instrument as well as technologies of microcomputer monitoring and aural & visual alarming; the chassis system using a currently advanced shock-absorbing gear train to substantially reduce traveling shock and make the operator comfortable in efficient operation; the working mechanism is equipped with a fast-changing unit, via which accessory working devices are fast and easy to install and dismantle to accomplish diversified operations.

Since its batch launch, YC20 has been widely recognized by customers for its high operation efficiency, with its market share increasing steadily. Also, it has boosted the development and technical progress of excavator parts manufacturers.
