On September 25, Yuchai launched seven high-speed boat engines, holding a relevant symposium attended by over 80 leaders and guests from entities nationwide including waterway administrations, maritime safety administrations, ship design institute and shipyards. The attendees discussed the characteristics, application scope and development outlook of high-speed boat engines.

Chen Linlong, vice president of China Classification Society, Guangzhou Branch, said, the seven high-speed boat engines launched by Yuchai have their unique features, especially low energy consumption and low emission. Now almost all domestic high-speed boats are powered by imported engines, as a national brand, Yuchai's launching the seven engines at the very time is timely and popular. Yuchai boasts tremendous R & D strength, hopefully it will keep upgrading these engines to further refine, enlarge and optimize its high-speed boat engine sector.

Huang Lingyong, chief of the Vessel Inspection Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said, Yuchai has developed rapidly and formed a complete product spectrum in the marine engine field in recent years, and he could feel Yuchai's products have been improving in performance and quality during inspecting Yuchai's marine engines over the years. With low energy consumption, low emission, compact structures and light weight, the seven high-speed boat engines newly launched by Yuchai suit high-speed boats very well. Hopefully Yuchai will develop dual-fuel high-speed boat engines in the future, whose outlook is promising.

Liu Minghui, deputy general manager of Wuhan Jiaofa Ship Design Co., Ltd., said, having dealt with Yuchai for a long time, I can truly feel Yuchai's quality leap. I was surprised to see electronically controlled common rail technology on marine engines for the first time at the launch conference for high-speed boat engines today. After hearing the introduction to the seven high-speed boat engines, I am full of confidence in and expectation of the seven engines.

Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., introduced Yuchai's idea of developing the marine engine sector, especially the high-speed boat engine sector: it will aim at model enterprises, learn from them and strive to compete with imported high-speed boat engines; will pay attention to the trend of fuel-burning marine engines and seize every development opportunity; will gradually establish a high-speed boat engine after-sales service system; and will cement contact and exchanges with industrial experts to constantly inject new technologies into high-speed boat engines.
