On October 14, General Manager Wu Qiwei, Vice General Manager Liang Qingyan and Chief Engineer Lin Zhiqiang of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. held a symposium with Shao Xinyu, executive vice president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), to discuss the new mode of school-enterprise cooperation. The two sides reached consensuses on issues such as talent training, intensifying enterprise-school-institute cooperation, setting up a scholarship at HUST and jointly building a postgraduate training base.

Wu introduced the market performance of Yuchai's engine sector this year. In the first nine months, Yuchai remained ahead in engine sales in the industry. He said, now Yuchai is constantly perfecting its industrial layout and R & D reserves of engines specific to vehicles, ships and agricultural machinery, which will boost Yuchai's development in the coming years. Also, Yuchai needs a large number of high-caliber talents to support its business development.

As Yuchai's strategic partner, HUST has maintained longstanding relations with Yuchai. To cement cooperation, Yuchai has decided to set up a scholar in HUST, earmarking 500,000 yuan to support outstanding students majoring in materials and other fields to complete studies in three years.

Shao thanked Yuchai for its long-term support to HUST in R & D and graduate employment, hoping to deepen and widen cooperation with Yuchai in the future.
