On November 9, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery) held the ground-breaking ceremony of the large casting workshop in the diesel engine casting project of Yuchai Foundry Center. Present were leaders of departments and plants of Yuchai Machinery such as Manufacturing Improvement Department, Manufacturing Technology Department, Production Department and Foundry.

The large casting workshop is a sub-item of the diesel engine casting project of Yuchai Foundry Center, as well as a project planned and constructed by the company to promote industrialized upgrading and ensure the quality and production capacity of large castings. With an expected total investment of 200 million yuan, the project involves cold-box core making, phenolic sand molding, phenolic sand regeneration, intermediate frequency furnace melting and purging, and is scheduled to go into trial production in the first half of 2015. As a major project in Yulin's machinery industry and a major project of Yuchai Group in 2013, the project was included in the corporate technical renovation fund program for the first group of projects of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2013.

According to sources, with a designed annual production capacity of 32,000 tons, the large casting workshop will manufacture large castings like body, cylinder cover and flywheel. Energy consumption examination and approval, environmental impact report examination and approval, project approval, main plant drilling and signing of the engineering design contract. Next, the foundry will, on the basis of its accumulated processes and R & D results, select process and equipment technologies with leading technical-economic indicators to perfectly complete project construction.
