The interview group of "2013 National Online Media Journey of Guangxi" visited the engine production line of Yuchai Group--heavy engine processing workshop and heavy engine assembly & commissioning workshop, to find out the process of engine manufacturing and assembling. According to sources, Yuchai Group has not only achieved the goal of upgrading products of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., but also appeared "strong" in the success rate of commodity development and the competitiveness of commodity projects. Statistics shows that Yuchai registered sales revenues of some 31.2 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, up 5.6 percent year on year.

"Yuchai engines" are hearts of buses and trucks. To intuitively find out how key engine parts are manufactured and assembled into engines, you need to personally visit the heavy engine processing workshop and assembly & commission workshop.

According to the person in charge of the heavy engine processing workshop, the two production lines receive several investigation groups every day, including journalists, customers and engine sellers. The reporter saw workers operating in a scrupulous and orderly manner amid sound of machine clash and friction.

Yuchai engines are the most competitive products of Yuchai Group. Among the six industrial sectors (engine, construction machinery, energy & chemical, logistics & vehicle trading and special vehicle) of Yuchai Group, the engine sector has grown with Yuchai over the six decades. To boost Yuchai's development, engines must be innovated and upgraded constantly.

According to Liang Bing, vice general manager of the Overseas Business Department of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., the overall operation level of Yuchai Group has risen steadily this year. The core subsidiary Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. has achieved substantial growth in production, sales and income, exceeding the average growth level of the industry. In terms of external cooperation, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. established Baotou Beiben Yuchai Engine Co., Ltd. with Beiben Trucks Group Co., Ltd., and held the commencement and cornerstone laying ceremony of Beiben Yuchai engine project on October 12. The project can turn out 100,000 units annually after the project winds up and comes on stream. Also, Yuchai has changed its product structure, launched National IV heavy-duty and light-duty engines, and accomplished a switch from the national III emission standard and the national IV emission standard. The sales booms of gas engines and hybrid engines have built Yuchai's future position in the new energy power industry. On September 25, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. launched seven high-speed boat engines at its quarters.

Since Yuchai marine engines and generating sets entered the Vietnamese market for the first time in the 1960s, the inventory of Yuchai engines in the ASEAN market has reached 73,954 units. Now all vehicles running on bus lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh and operated by Chongzuo-Lang Son International Coach United Company have been powered by Yuchai, and Yuchai's products have been widely used in Vietnam's relevant fields such as automobile, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and ship.

In the first half of 2013, Yuchai exported over 16,000 units to the overseas market, up 40 percent year on year; remarkably, it performed strongly in the ASEAN market, fulfilling 61 percent of its annual target in the first seven months of 2013; Yuchai's sales in the ASEAN market have accounted for some 35 percent of its total overseas sales.
