On December 27, Yuchai Machinery 2014 Suppliers Conference was held in Nanning known as a "green city". Yuchai got together with over 180 suppliers at the Nanning base of Yuchai R & D Center to look into second start-up, collaborative development and win-win. The conference focused on subjects such as market situation, supply, product quality and second start-up this year and next, and commended the outstanding suppliers in 2013.

At the conference, Feng Xiangying, vice mayor of Yulin, introduced Yuchai New Industrial City to the supplier representatives, presenting information including target planning, preferential policy, advancement strategy and operation mode. He said, to implement the objective of leapfrog development of the autonomous region's new industry, Yulin has worked out an industrial economy multiplication plan with the aim of upgrading Yulin's industrial economy, enhancing industries, fostering new industries and advancing the clustered and connotative development of industries. During implementing the strategy of "invigorating Yuchai and prospering Yulin", upon deliberate surveys and thorough studies, based on Yuchai's current industrial pattern and future development need, the CPC Yulin Municipal Committee and the Yulin Municipal People's Government decided to plan and construct Yuchai New Industrial City in a bid to build Yuchai into a national new equipment manufacturing industry demonstration base and promote the rapid development of Yulin's industry. He hoped that Yuchai would take the opportunity of national industrial restructuring and enhance core competitiveness with focus on the development and extension of the core industry chain.

Feng said, Yuchai New Industrial City will be constructed in the mode of industry-city integration and be built into an industrial base and a residential place. The construction will be dominated by the government and center on Yuchai. The government will be in charge of planning and releasing policies, give strong support from the perspectives of introducing outstanding enterprises, implementing the preferential policy for west development, land taxation support, developing vocational development to meet labor demand and improving transport capacity. "Yulin is building a 'one-hour traffic circle': the airport has been approved and is expected to be built up in the coming three years, a port will be constructed in the border area of Yulin and Beihai, railways will be further sped up and light rail construction is under planning", thus Yulin will have a developed composite traffic network. The municipal committee and government will release the support policy as soon as possible, form institutional documents through the municipal people's congress and work out a construction plan for Yuchai New Industrial City.

Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, spoke at the conference, He said, synchronous construction, collaboration, equal treatment and mutual respect with suppliers is Yuchai's persistent concept, Yuchai will become an enterprise most popular with supplies, hopefully all suppliers will jointly maintain the health of Yuchai system and work in harmony with Yuchai. There is still a wide gap between Yuchai and world advanced enterprises, which is heavily related to Yuchai's supply system. Yuchai will step up efforts to introduce senior experts and talents from across the world. Yuchai's senior management should have open mind and high realm, and keep learning and innovating to enhance work performance. Our suppliers should develop in parallel with Yuchai, learn from world advanced enterprises and make progress constantly. Yuchai will continuously advance the building of the best supplier system, plan system construction well, draw on the world's best experience in supplier system management and step up system construction. Hopefully, suppliers will give uttermost cooperation and support, intensify management and increase investment in product R & D and quality improvement.

Yan stressed, second start-up is the inherent demand of Yuchai's development and its core is enterprise transformation and upgrading. Yuchai should work out qualitative index for transformation and upgrading. Construction of Yuchai New Industrial City is an important means of Yuchai's second start-up. Yuchai will be in charge of investment promotion, planning, construction and operation, and welcome enterprises in the supply system for investment in Yuchai New Industrial City according to their needs for transformation, upgrading and logistics cost reduction. Yuchai will give maximum bonuses to new city investors in terms of market share.

Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., made a keynote presentation entitled Specialized Potential Tapping, Intensification of National IV Operations, Second Start-up, Collaboration for Win-win, analyzing the market in 2013, introducing the business target and key work idea for 2014, and worked out the development plan for the coming five years and the idea of supplier system construction. He required that suppliers should improve SQCDD in collaboration with Yuchai to comprehensively enhance Yuchai's core competitiveness.

In 2013, Yuchai Machinery achieved good results in purchase. According to Chen Ningbin, vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery in charge of purchase, suppliers improved in quality level, production capacity and delivery capacity in 2013. He required that suppliers should develop in parallel with Yuchai, further intensify R & D capacity, quality assurance capacity and production capacity building, and thoroughly advance lean supply chain building.

Tan Guirong, acting vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery, said, our current quality level remains unoptimistic, hopefully suppliers will, in collaboration with Yuchai, implement the quality concept of "zero defect, zero tolerance", enhance capabilities and truly assume the heavy responsibility for quality.

The conference commended the outstanding suppliers in 2013. Yuchai Machinery set up Lean Award, Quality Award and Outstanding Supplier Award. Seven enterprises including Guilin Fuda won the first, second and third prizes of the Lean Award, 10 enterprises including Prestolite Electric (Beijing) Limited won the Quality Award, and 20 enterprises like Shandong Longkou Tubing Co., Ltd. won the Outstanding Supplier Award. Yuchai's leaders like Yan Ping, Wu Qiwei, Che Ningbin, Shen Jie, Qin Xiaohong and Tan Guirong presented the awards to the winning enterprises.

Lin Zhiqiang, chief engineer of Yuchai Machinery, presided over the conference. On the sidelines of the conference, the supplier representatives visited the Nanning base of Yuchai R & D Center.
