Yuchai-Rato new energy-conserving & eco-friendly quality mini diesel engine project settles in Chong

On December 28, Yuchai-Rato new energy-conserving and eco-friendly quality mini diesel engine project with a total investment of 3 billion yuan settled in Longxing Industrial Park, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area. Present at the signing ceremony were Huang Qifan, mayor of Chongqing City; Zhang Guoqing, deputy secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee; Wen Jieming, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor of Chongqing City; Ling Yueming, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and secretary of the Party Work Committee of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area and Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group.

Located at Longxing Industry Park, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, project is a joint quality mini diesel engine project of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Rato Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. With a planned annual output of 350,000 new energy-conserving diesel engines and a planned annual output of 100,000 new agricultural machines and 100,000 generating units, the project will achieve an annual output value of some 10 billion yuan at full capacity.

Huang said, Liangjiang New Area is an engine for Chongqing's economic development and a platform via which Chongqing opens to the outside world. Building a global high-caliber new energy-conserving diesel engine industry base in the area can promote the development of the high-end equipment cluster of the area, and Chongqing's related mature industries like gas model can provide ready-made support for the project and facilitate its development.

With the accelerated advancement of China's modern agricultural mechanization, new energy-conserving eco-friendly diesel engines will have broad market prospect, said Yan at the signing ceremony, believing the cooperative project in Chongqing will succeed.

According to sources, China's annual output of small-displacement road diesel engines roughly account for over 80 percent of its global output, but new energy-conserving quality diesel engines are mainly imported. Yuchai is one of China's largest diesel engine manufacturers, Rato is a large-sized private enterprise engaged in the thermal power industry and the parts industry, and the strong combination of Yuchai and Rato will play a positive role in filling the market gap and improving China's capability of manufacturing high-end mini diesel engines.
