On January 13, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery) and Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery called on Tong Dongcheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM) at DFM's headquarters in Wuhan. The two sides exchanged ideas on further deepening enterprise cooperation and communication.

Tong thanked Yuchai for its support to DFM over the years. After years of efforts, Yuchai has developed into a general engine supplier. Yuchai's experience and practice of actively emancipating mind and striving to adapt to the market in development is worth learning by DFM. He hoped that the two sides would hold friendly talks and make good communication on a regular basis to jointly advance prospective technical research and broaden the market, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win.

Yan thanked DFM for its great favor to Yuchai over the years. For many years, DFM and Yuchai have worked in harmony, jointly developed the market and achieved good results. Amid increasingly fierce market competition, Yuchai will treasure the cooperation with DFM and double efforts in product quality improvement and internal cost management. He hoped that DFM would continue paying attention to cooperation with Yuchai and supporting Yuchai's development, and the two sides will forge a solid strategic partnership.

At the meeting, Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery and Xia Xiaochuan, deputy director of the Business Management Department of DFM introduced the production and operation of respective companies. In 2013, DFM grew rapidly with sales of 3.5349 million units, up 14.8 percent year on year; Yuchai Machinery sold over 500,000 engines, with its market share 1 percent up on the basis of an increase of 3 percent last year. DFM and Yuchai aim to achieve higher objectives in 2014, and the two enterprises will cement strategic cooperation to achieve better results.
