On February 18, the 3rd Session of the 17th Workers' Congress of Yuchai Group was held. Leaders like Li Changguan, deputy secretary of the CPC Yulin Municipal Committee were present for congratulations and instructions. Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, delivered an important speech. 716 worker delegates and 11 non-voting delegates attended the congress to discuss corporate development. The congress called on all workers to stay united and go all out for Yuchai's "secondary startup".

In 2013, Yuchai Group positively coped with the severe challenge of increased pressure from economic downturn, with its annual sales revenues rebounding to 42.5 billion yuan. Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. registered engine sales of over 500,000 units, up 16.1 percent, thus securing its lead in the industry and making remarkable contributions to Yulin's economic development.

Li Changguan delivered an important speech at the congress

On behalf of the municipal committee and government, Li congratulated Yuchai Group on its achievements. He said, as an indigenous enterprise in Yulin, Yuchai Group has made improvement constantly and worked hard to achieve encouraging results over the 63 years. With a focus on promoting transition of Yulin's industry from the initial stage to the middle & later stage, the municipal committee and government will unswervingly implement the strategy of "invigorating Yuchai and prospering Yulin", support Yuchai in "second startup", and accelerate the construction of Yuchai Industrial New City to build Yuchai, the machinery industry and a park with an output value of 100 billion yuan. He hoped that Yuchai would assume the heavy duty, unite with and lead its workers to make endeavor to build Yuchai into a globalized enterprise with an output value of 100 billion yuan with "second startup" as the opportunity and industrial new city construction as the important carrier and content. He hoped that Yuchai's labor unions would perform respective duties and make all-out efforts to build the "home of workers" trusted by workers, thus boosting corporate development. Also, he hoped that Yuchai's workers would enhance their sense of ownership and take active part in "second startup" to contribute to corporate development.

Yan Ping spoke at the congress

At the congress, Chairman Yan Ping delivered an important speech entitled Overcome Hardships and Difficulties, Conduct Sustainable Operation and Work Hard for "Second Startup". He objectively summed up the work over the year, made a scientific study and judgment of national, industrial and corporate situation, proposed the general principles of the group's strategy of "second startup" and defined the overall requirements of advancement of "second startup"; looked into the problems existing in cadre style building and team building, and proposed the specific measures for deepening of style building, benchmarking learning and outstanding team building; conducted planning and made arrangements in regard to "how to adjust the income distribution mechanism in an orderly manner to make all staff enjoy development achievements equally".

Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group, gave a presidential work report. Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery), gave a general manager work report. They reported the work highlights and existing problems of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery in 2013 as well as their work plans in 2014.

The delegates attentively listened to the work reports and financial budgeting & final accounting reports of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery from 2013 to 2014, the report on performance of the group's collective contract in 2013, the report implementation of workers' proposals adopted at the 2nd session and the report on solicitation of workers' proposals at the 3rd session, adopted these reports upon deliberation and conducted democratic appraisal of corporate leading cadres.

The congress called on all workers to stay united and go all out for Yuchai's "secondary startup".

Yang Yue, vice chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Yulin Municipal People's Government and Dang Li, vice chairman of the Yulin Federation of Trade Unions were present for congratulations and instructions.
