Soon after the 3rd Session of the 17th Workers' Congress of Yuchai Group, to advance Yuchai's livelihood project, on February 19, Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group, led the affordable housing work group and leaders of relevant departments of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery) to the construction site at the intersection (formerly the sea of Yulin Printing & Dyeing Mill) of Erhuan South Road and Jiangnan Boulevard, to find out the progress of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Yuchai's affordable housing project.

The "three suppliers and one leveling" work of Phase 1 of Yuchai's affordable housing project has wound up, construction of 11 independent foundations of Building 1, raft foundations of Building 2-7 and some pile foundations of Building 7-9 has been completed, and project construction has been progressing smoothly. Demolition and land leveling works of Phase 2 have begun.

Following the site investigation, Gu held a project meeting with the work group and relevant leaders of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery at the meeting room on the sixth floor of Yuchai Group, discussing relevant issues in project construction such as application qualification examination, principles of housing selection and intensification of construction monitoring, and arranging the work for the next period. As Yuchai's livelihood project for caring the staff and effectively resolving their housing difficulty, affordable low-cost commercial housing is of great significance to accelerating talent introduction, stabilizing the talent team and enhancing the happiness of Yuchai's staff, Gu stressed, requiring that the project team and all units should work closely with each other and increase working efficiency to ensure that the project is completed fully, perfectly and as scheduled.

According to sources, Yuchai's affordable low-cost commercial housing project will provide over 5,000 houses and will be constructed in three phases, including 1,800 suites for Phase 1 and 1,000 suites for Phase 2. According to the construction schedule, the civil works of Phase 1 are expected to be completed in late 2014 and housing will be delivered in the first quarter of 2015.
