Recently, the results of the annual review of achievements in advanced processes, tools and equipment renovation in Guangxi, have been unveiled. Plant 3D Model Design and Application declared by Engine Plant 2 of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. won the first prize, and six others won the third prizes.

Launched at Engine Plant 2 in this February, the project of Plant 3D Model Design and Application used UG modeling technology, started from plant modeling and introduced the application of 3D thinking in production and business operations. It not only has a profound impact on product design, manufacturing, use, inspection and evaluation, but shows substantial advantages in such aspects as planning, organization management, resource scheduling, logistics distribution and site visual management.

In 2012, several technical renovation plans of Engine Plant 2 were implemented once off through successful 3D simulation and produced good effects. These plans include feasibility analysis of placement of YC4S engine crankshaft on cleaning line, optimization of flywheel housing and clutch flow track, dustproof rectification of workshop, job simulation analysis of main bearing tightening and simulation analysis of new product launch on cylinder cover assembly line of the Vehicle Engine Assembly Department.

3D modeling has been widely applied in the manufacturing process of Engine Plant 2, promoted its technical progress and innovation, and boosted its productivity.
