World first W6X40 low-speed marine engine manufactured by YCMP passes pre-delivery inspection

On December 20, machines roaring, the world first W6X40 low-speed large-power marine engine was undergoing the last test at the commissioning workshop of Yuchai Marine Power Co., Ltd. (YCMP). After a successful test, the engine, some 6.5 meters in length, some 7 meters in height and some 125 tons in weight, is about to be delivered to the shipyard.

W6X40 marine engine is a latest low-speed large-power full-electronic-control high-pressure common-rail diesel engine developed by Wartsila with a power of 6,810kW and a revolution of 147r/min. The model uses advanced energy conservation technologies, and flexible chooses control parameters of injection and the vent valve via the software control system to minimize fuel consumption. Besides, the oil feed unit separates the oil feed system and the servo oil feed system to make the engine more stable.
