On January 11, a landslide occurred in Zhaojiagou, Gaopo Village, Guozhu Township, Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. When the compatriots in Zhenxiong were suffering the disaster, central and local leaders showed great concern and personally headed to the scene to direct disaster relief, and parties of villagers around and humanitarians also hurried off to the site for voluntary rescue and relief efforts. The two excavators of Hu Jianguo and Gong Chenghua, customers of Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited (YHI), were also involved in the rescue.

When the mudslide occurred, Hu and Gong were working in the construction field. At the news, they immediately called in several operators to drive the excavators to the disaster-hit site to remove the mud and rubbles in the way. Directed by the local rescue team, the operators steered the excavators busily. Rubbles rolled down the hill from time to time during their operations, but the operators were still clearing the rescue road leading to the afflicted area against time.

The rescue teams in the disaster-hit area have successively pulled out of the site for post-disaster reconstruction. We have communicated with the local government and we are available at call. When our fellow countrymen suffered, we should make our humble contribution, Hu said in earnest.
