On January 28, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, met a delegation led by Li Xuewei, president of Dalian Jiaotong University (DJTU), at Power Building, exchanging ideas on issues such as technical R & D and talent training. Present were leaders including Zhou Sunhai, vice president of Yuchai Group and Lin Zhiqiang, chief engineer of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, Yan Ping introduced Yuchai's development strategy and talent training mechanism, saying Yuchai is working towards the objective of "100 billion yuan" in the "twelfth five-year" period with many projects underway, thus needing a lot of technical talents in fields such as foundry, internal combustion engine and materials. DJTU has trained and transferred a multitude of top research talents to the society, hopefully Yuchai and DJTU will establish more extensive relations in such aspects as technology R & D, talent training exchanges and information sharing, he added.

Li said, Yuchai has a fine and distinctive corporate culture and strong staff cohesion. It has remained invincible in the engine industry without location advantage, showing its strong brand competitiveness. Hopefully, through further discussion, DJTU will adjust its teaching orientation to the enterprise's demand, seek research orientation from the enterprise and cultivate high-end talents to offer the enterprise all-round talent service.

According to sources, in October 2012, Yuchai and DJTU jointly invested in establishing Dalian Yuchai Turbo Technology Research and Development Center Co., Ltd. to break the international turbo technology barrier and build a globally influential turbo technology industry base and a high-tech turbo technology and product circulation base. Yuchai also set up the Yuchai Scholarship to support DJTUs outstanding but needy students. The two sides boast a sold cooperative foundation.
