Yan Ping grants interview to mainstream media in Beijing

On March 5, the 2nd Session of the 12th National People's Congress opened. Before the session, Yan Ping, an NPC deputy and chairman of Yuchai Group, granted an interview to several mainstream media outlets like People's Daily, China Automotive News and China Industry News, introducing Yuchai's development achievements, and looking into the issues concerning the national economy and the people's livelihood such as corporate reform and environmental protection.

This year saw the first NPC and CPPCC annual sessions one year after the new central leaders assumed their new offices collectively, and is the first year of implementing the spirit of the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee and a critical year of fulfilling the "Twelfth Five-Year" Plan. As comprehensive deepening of reforms progress, and the atmosphere of making constant innovation and accelerating economic transformation and upgrading becomes increasingly thick, the NPC and CPPCC annual sessions this year have also been given many special meanings.

In an interview from several mainstream media outlets like China Automotive News before the session, Yan noted, there are currently problems such as overcapacity and low capital efficiency in the domestic auto industry, indicating that the reform of the auto industry is imperative. He thought reforms and independent R & D also need overall planning and support from government departments. He said, the globalization of the auto industry is the globalization of Europe and America by making use of developing countries, and they will inevitably popularize their cultures and values in the process of industrial globalization, and will gain and secure their lead through "containment" and rake in enormous profits. Thus, the top-level design of China's auto and engine industries is especially important and urgent. Only in this way will it be fair to the independent development of China's auto and engine industries starting late.
