2014 China Beijing International Exhibition on Buses, Trucks & Components, which adopts the theme of green, safe and intelligent was kicked off in Beijing. Yuchai displays 7 of its green and environment-friendly products at the event. In particular, its engine using the 2-generation hybrid power system that reaches EU VI Emission Standard captured the greatest attention.

The engines displayed by Yuchai at the event include the light, medium and heavy engines using the diesel, gas and new energies, reaching CN IV, CN 5 and EU 6 emission standards.

YC6L and Yuchai 2-generation hybrid power system, which reach EU VI emission standard, were most attention-capturing exhibits. Yuchai YCHPT 2-generation plug-in hybrid system (YCHPT II) carries on the highly-integrated and high-power features of ISG strong hybrid power system. Equipped with special motors, it increases the motor power to 120kW. In this way, it can meet the needs of both deep hybrid power system and plug-in system while fully presenting the advantages such as high energy feedback rate and fuel saving rate. Meeting the governments requirements for new-energy subsidies, it is the international mainstream technical route. At the same time, YCHPTadopts the engine + motor integrated design so that the system has the characteristic of compact structure and high mechanical efficiency. The standard configuration AMT gearbox has high adaptability for working conditions and has such functions as intelligent shift, AMT and power/economical model shift. In terms of energy storage, based on the original Ni-MH and LFP batteries, it has added the compatible capacity for super-capacitors. The features of Yuchuai 2-generation hybrid plug-in system can be summed up as follows: the gearbox ensures wide adaptability to various working conditions; high mechanical efficiency; flexible adjustment of electricity power ratio; high and stable fuel saving rate; and function of limp home.

Till today, more than 3,000 Yuchai hybrid power system have been sold in the market. And Yuchai hybrid engines take more than 70% of the Chinese market of hybrid buses. The clients include major bus manufacturers in China such as Xiamen King Long, Suzhou King Long, Zhengzhou Yutong, GAC Group, Chongqing Hengtong, Jinhua Yamen, Zhong Tong, Jiangxi Bonluck, and Guilin Daewoo, etc. The products are mainly supplied to large and medium-size public wagons with the length ranging between 9 and 12 meters. They are widely used in such cities as Guangzhou, Suzhou, Chongqing, Kunming, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Nanchang, Guiyang, Zhengzhou and Hohhot, etc. The Yuchai hybrid power assemblys fuel-saving rate reaches 25-30%, making it quite popular in the market.
