On July 31, Yuchai Group held the launch conference of the labor competition themed "Boosting Yuchai's transformation and upgrading, contributing to the second startup" at Engine Plant 5, raising the curtain of the labor competition in 2014. Present were Guo Deming, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Group; Li Chengjie, chairman of the Labor Union of Yuchai Group and Chen Shijun, general manager assistant of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.

Sources said the labor competition will involve quality and equipment maintenance, be organized by all entities under Yuchai and run from August till November. All the workers engaged in related work may enter for the competition. During the competition, the judges will irregularly visit the entities for supervision and random inspection.

At the launch conference, Li reported the results of the Yulin tryout of 2014 "Guangxi Skill Master" Contest. He said, Yuchai fielded over 160 workers for competition in six categories and achieved brilliant results. Yuchai made a clean sweep of the top three places of three categories: forklift operation, welding and computer (microcomputer) debugging, showing the high strength and technical level of Yuchai's contestants.

Quality inspector Feng Chun was using a special inspection tool to detect the coaxality of the axis of the valve guide hole and the outer cylindrical surface of the oil seal, and another quality inspector Nie Dapeng was explaining the corresponding operation specifications.

At the conference, the quality inspectors and equipment maintainers demonstrated operation specifications to the attendees.

Secretaries of (general) Party branches, deputy-level leaders in charge of production, chairmen (chairwomen) of labor unions, chairmen (chairwomen) of women workers committees and contestant representatives of the participating entities attended the conference.
