Yuchai joins hands with DFLZ for quality improvement project

The kick-off meeting of Yuchai "early three" engine project and DFLZ-Yuchai quality improvement project has recently been held at Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. (DFLZ). Cheng Daoran, general manager of DFLZ and Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (Yuchai Machinery) were present.

In Yuchai's "early three" engine project, DFLZ and Yuchai will jointly research to improve engine reliability and reduce the failure rate of engines in the early days of their launch. According to Tan Guirong, acting vice general manager of Yuchai Machinery, "early three" products have three features: high customer attention, high relevancy to follow-up failure, high degree of impact on markets and brands. Improving the quality of "early three" products is of great significance to both DFLZ and Yuchai.

The "early three" project will be implemented in three phases and plans to make the "early three" failure rate of Yuchai engines up to European and American benchmark standards in three years. Phase 1 will run from October 31, 2014 to September 30, 2015, and will be accepted before December 31, 2015. Both sides' project teams will make communication in forms such as weekly teleconference/videoconference and monthly meeting.

At the meeting, Tang and Mo Rongbo, vice general manager of DFLZ signed the Schedule of Quality Improvement in 2015 on behalf of Yuchai and DFLZ. Also, the two sides made in-depth communication on business, technology and market exchange achievements.
