At the meeting, the experts spoke highly of the relevant work of the project and offered guiding opinions on project planning, management system, effects of energy conservation and emission reduction, etc. Upon discussion, the expert panel reached a consensus, approving YM to submit the formulated Report of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. on Evaluation, Acceptance and Self Inspection of Pilot Manufacturing to the National Development and Reform Commission for review.

According to sources, automotive parts remanufacturing is a process of mass manufacturing that restores parts of used vehicles to originals with same technical properties through procedures such as dismantlement, cleaning, testing certification and reprocessing or upgrading, assembly and retesting. The Measures for Administration of Pilot Remanufacturing of Automotive Parts, promulgated by the National Development and Reform Commission, temporarily defined the scope of remanufacturing as engine, transmission, generator, starter and bogie. Yuchai and Caterpillar joined hands to establish an engine remanufacturing company with an annual production capacity of 30,000 units to promote the development of the cyclic and low-carbon economy. The company ranked among the countrys first group of pilot automotive parts remanufacturing enterprises in 2010.

Among attendees were Lin Guangnan, chief of the Division of Resource Conservation and Environment Protection of Guangxi Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission; Wang Haiqing, chief economist of Yulin Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission; Jiang Weidong, chief engineer of Yulin Industry and Informatization Commission; Liang Qingyan, deputy general manager of YM and Li Xiao, manager of Engine Plant 3. Lin presided over the meeting.
